Steel Arch Truss Bridge Removal and Replacement

The steel arch bridge spanned 178� across the Arkansas River in Colorado. Because of its age, the decision was made to replace the steel truss bridge. Calculations were performed to determine the weight and structural stability of the truss for safe removal. The replacement bridge is a two-span bridge with precast BT72 girders. Both spans are 128ft long.
